Carter's Croft at Middle Colenso Farm

I'm still thinking about my visit to this gorgeous place. I came in September, just out of season, but I'm sure it would be peaceful at any time. Carter's Croft is my idea of a perfect bolthole. I spent nearly a week here alone and I have not felt happier for a long time. It's beautifully restored, immaculately decorated, and is tucked away in its own private corner of the gardens. Nearby are endless delights: Smuggler's Cove, Penzance, St Ives. You get the best of all worlds. And Christen's Pilates studio is also excellent and she's an intuitive and impressive teacher.

This was our second visit to Middle Colenso. We enjoyed each trip so much. We’ve recommended it to friends and will definitely return again. It’s in a quiet location and is a beautiful stay. The conversions are stunning. Everything there that we needed. It’s so well considered. The gardens are inspiring! Chris and Christen are brilliant hosts and on hand if you should need anything, or seek any local knowledge. This time we visited Penzance, which was great and we will return. We also did a Pilates workshop with Christen at the property, which was excellent. Highly recommend.

A beautiful cottage in a delightful location. Very comfortable bed and had our best sleep ever. The kitchen was a perfect size with every imaginable kitchen utensil one could want. Lovely dining/ living area with stylish furniture. Outside was a a very private courtyard garden which was great to sit in and catch the evening sun.

Super stay at well equipped cosy cottage

A wild, windy and rainy Autumnal weekend, but Carter's Craft is so wonderfully cosy with a log-burner, reading lights, sheepskins, blankets and a carefully chosen selection of books and classic films that we couldn't wait to spend a night in. Brilliantly located for trips to Penzance, St Ives and (in better weather) sandy beaches. Thank you, Chris and Christen for such such a lovely stay. We hope to be back for longer next time.

I loved the design of this cottage, loads of really clever, space saving ideas make it really comfy as well as stylish. The outside garden area is peaceful, private and feels very mediterranean.
