Chapel House Portholland

We had a wonderful week at chapel cottage. Full of light, warmth and character. The kids had fun going wild on the deserted beach, we had tired wobbly legs from so many cliff walks in the wind and sun, and gained a bit of weight with all the lovely food ;). Was a great family time together, playing duets on the piano and watching the full moon rise from the window seat. It's not the newest decoration. But down to earth. And so close to nature. And you will relax. And that window seat....!!

This is a lovely home. I absolutely loved staying at the Chapel and would love to go back. My husband and I stayed for 5 days and wished we could have stayed longer. You are right by a lovely little beach and the coastal path. This is not a luxury stay, this is homely, quiet and comfortable house with enough room for 7 and a cot for a small child. Remote for sure but it's a short drive to get needed supplies. The host and care takers took great care of us.

The Chapel House is an ideal place for a relaxed Cornish break. In a quiet village, directly overlooking the beach, it is spacious, relaxing and a world away from the cares of daily life. The lofty ceiling in the main lounge provides a wonderful sense of space and the enormous arched window offers a perfect view of the beach and sea. The window even has a broad window-ledge, wide enough to sit on, perhaps with a glass of wine, as the sun goes down! The Chapel House is relaxed, bohemian and 'arty' in nature, with a feeling of serenity. As you can probably tell, we liked it a lot!!

What an amazing place! This was exactly what we needed after several months of lockdown! Beautiful location, and interesting quirky property. Yes it's a bit tired around the edges, but that does not in anyway detract from how lovely it is. The location couldn't be better, our kids were able to potter back and forth from the beach, and when the tide was in, it felt like our own private bay.

The Chapel is in the most captivating beachside setting above a little hidden cove. Very carefully and thoughtfully restored by its owner, it's the perfect hideaway for families or groups of creatives all year round. Not your typical swanky super smart beach houses of today, instead very comfy and dearly loved. You might find the odd cobweb but that all adds to its charm!
