The Experience
You’ll feel tucked away and peaceful here down a winding country lane, but you’re just off the A30.
Owners Simon and Penny live next door with their friendly terrier and can give you local tips for good away walks, beaches and places to eat. They leave you a cream tea and a bottle of wine along with plenty of wood for the wood-burner. The kitchen has space for sociable cooking and chatting, and the sitting room has French doors to your own garden – spill out here on sunny days for barbecues.
There are endless good walks or you can head to Sennen and Gwynver in about ten minutes; you’ll find surfboards and bodyboards in the shed which you’re welcome to borrow. You’re 15 minutes from Mousehole and The Minack Theatre is about 20 minutes.

We have just returned after a weeks stay in Dairy cottage which is a lovely well equipped cottage full of charm and has everything you would ever need. The setting is perfect, with quiet and relaxing surroundings and the added bonus of the beautiful large garden to use when you want. The situation is perfect for exploring the area with beaches and walks and places to visit all within easy reach. Penny and Simon are very welcoming hosts and and have much knowledge of Cornwall and the area. We will definitely return next year.

This was our second trip to dairy cottage with our dog but the first trip with our daughter Lola. We just knew it was the perfect place for a family holiday. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable weeks stay. Penny also provided us with a high chair and camp cot which was brilliant. We could hardly get our daughter and dog out of the big garden that the cottage uses. It is a slice of absolutely heaven and definitely going to be an annual holiday for us if there's space!

We've just had a wonderful week staying at Dairy Cottage. The cottage has lovely rustic charm, the large garden is wonderful (great for an energetic dog and children) and Penny and Simon were very relaxed and welcoming. We stayed over Easter and the garden was perfect for an Easter Egg hunt, amongst the daffodils and blossom in the orchard! The cottage is also excellently situated for exploring the Penwith region and its peninsula - though the local walks are also worth making time for. There are a surprising number of ancient sites within close proximity to the cottage. We hope to return.

The Old Dairy is a really beautiful hidden spot. Accessed along a small winding country lane, the property is surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens and woodland. Completely sheltered and tucked away, this would be the perfect place to sit outside in the garden in the evening after a long day on the beach or walking through the countryside.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Penny Rumble
- Dairy Cottage is a Grade II listed building which was once an 18th century milking parlour. It has been tastefully converted by Simon and Penny who live next door. If you enjoy art then visit Penny's studio next to their home.
- Dairy Cottage is set in the tiny hamlet of Tregonebris which belongs to the rural parish of Sancreed. It has a beautifully maintained garden of over an acre with lovely views. An ideal place to exercise your dog if you don't feel like going to the beach.
- The beaches of both the north and south coasts are only a few minutes drive away.
- The cottage has many walks directly from the front door with ancient stone circles and an Iron Age village very close by.
- The local farm shop is the nearest place for fresh vegetables and home reared meat. It is a short drive from the cottage and a coffee is always available in the cafe there.
- Peace and tranquillity is on offer here. Throw open the French windows and watch the sun set in the west. Get away from everything, light the barbeque or the woodburner depending on the season.

Introducing
Penny Rumble
Simon and Penny ran an antiques business for nearly 30 years and since moving to Cornwall in 2008 have thrown themselves into local life and love introducing visitors to their area. Penny is also an artist, with her work on display in many galleries – you’re welcome to visit her in her studio. They have a fishing boat and enjoy walking the coastal path and swimming.
Our third visit to Dairy Cottage, and hopefully not our last! The cottage is beautiful and the garden an absolute gem - especially for children. The words of our oldest probably indicate how much of a treasure this place is for families (not least, because of Penny and Simon's thoughtfulness as hosts): "The garden is so big and great to explore. We can't wait until we come to stay again!" (Emily, age 7)
