The Experience

The cottage dates back to the 1500s with an inviting sitting room sporting squishy chairs and sofas with soft throws and cushions, a window seat with delicious views and a cheery wood-burner to keep you extra warm. For rainy days you’ll find books, games and films to watch. Cooks will approve of the Aga-warmed kitchen and there’s plenty of space at the big wooden table for helpers or those who want to chat.

Bedrooms, one downstairs with French windows to the courtyard garden, and two upstairs with sloping ceilings, have bags of character and well-turned-out beds – you’ll sleep peacefully. Find a spot in the lovely garden for your morning tea or evening drink: a west-facing summerhouse with comfy chairs, a games room, different areas for reading or dining, steamer chairs in the meadow, a lawn for sprawling or games.

Walk and cycle quiet lanes, spend time exploring the church to discover two of the oldest bells in England, stay put and take root.
