The School House

This is a beautifully maintained, cosy cottage in rural Lincolnshire. On arrival we found a selection of staples and 'goodies' from the Easton Estate shop, which was lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The School House is a very special place and we would love to visit again.

Farmhouse is spacious for two people and very quiet except for the agricultural vehicles for the ongoing harvest. Everyone we met was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The house was well-appointed and we had our needed peaceful break in a beautiful rural setting. The supplies left for us ( bread, cake, drinks etc.) were delicious and very welcome.

Our week in The School House was perfect and very relaxing and refreshing. The village was quiet and slow-paced, with a brilliant farm shop 5mins walk away. The property was really comfortable and we especially liked the spacious bathroom. The welcome goodies and after-hours access to the stunning Easton Walled Gardens made for a very memorable and uncomplicated holiday. We hope to return!

Charming cottage with excellent facilities. Set in a lovely small village with nearby pub serving excellent fish and chips and homemade pizzas on certain nights. Plenty of places of interest nearby - Lincoln, Stamford, Issac Newton's house, Burghley, Oakham , Rutland Water and of course Easton Walled Gardens which are worth coming for in themselves. So much that we must come back. Thoroughly recommend.

The cottage was lovely, beautifully converted, quiet and well equipped. The supplies left for us were a nice touch (including wine and sloe gin!). Out of hours access to the walled gardens was much appreciated.

Well-appointed, well-equipped, and well-maintained, the School House exceeded our expectations even after we had read such encouraging reviews. Properties for two are not usually so spacious and we appreciated the choice of rooms in which we could sit, as well as the garden. There was dedicated parking immediately outside. There were steep stairs to the first floor (bathroom and bedroom), and although we septuagenarians managed OK, we think it is worth pointing out. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom spacious. We enjoyed our visits to the Walled Garden and we intend to return soon.

Lovely stay at The School House. Very thoughtfully prepared. Great for our well behaved dogs as the garden is fully enclosed and there are hard floors in the kitchen and dining room. Would thoroughly recommend.

What a fabulous place to stay, and so much attention to detail and lovely extras. We were very busy attending a family wedding, so really didn’t get to spend as much time here as I would have liked. I think we will definitely have to return to make the most of the lovely School House.

Lovely cottage with delightful garden in a peaceful location. All amenities were of a high standard and created a very comfortable and relaxed stay.

A beautiful and luxurious cottage in peaceful surroundings.

A very comfortable and well equipped little cottage. It has a pretty little garden with good quality garden seats and is very close to the local pub, which at the time of writing was excellent for food, servicce and welcome. The added bonus of this cottage is that it is on the Easton Estate and allows free access to the Easton Walled Gardens which are delightful.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the School House. It’s been beautifully renovated to create a welcoming, warm and comfortable place to stay with lots of lovely touches to make you feel at home. There’s a great pub and farm shop in easy walking distance and there are so many things to do in the area that there was no way we could get round them all. We’re definitely hoping to come back.

Probably the nicest holiday cottage that we have ever stayed in – and over the years we have stayed in quite a few! It is an interesting building of character, in a peaceful setting, very well presented and with a high quality of provision of facilities. Perfectly spacious for two. Very good folder of “instructions”, and the Estate Office team were most helpful. We found something interesting to do in the area each day - and the bonus of being able to stroll in the Easton walled gardens with no one else around was a real delight.

This was our 3rd visit to The Schoolhouse, a vey cosy comfortable cottage.The welcome pack is a nice touch as is the unlimited log supply and check out time of 11am. There are loads of places to visit in the area and the local pub and farm shop in the village are really good. W shall be back.

The school house is a little gem of a property. The owners have kept some of the original features eg the stone floor in the dining room and original window in the bedroom, Which adds to its charm. We love the garden in the summer and exploring the area with Stamford being our favourite town. The local pub has a good choice of food and the staff always make us feel at home whilst we're staying in the school house. We find staying here so relaxing we've stayed may times and will keep going back to this little piece of heaven.

Beautiful cottage

One of the best holiday cottages we have been too. Nicely furnished, very clean, friendly welcome with fresh flowers and local produce. Location is great, too. We will certainly come back again.

This was our 3rd visit to the School House and once again we were delighted with the cottage. It’s very well furnished with all the extras you could hope for. The Cholmeley Arms, a few minutes away, serves really good, and large portions of, food and a good selection of beers and gins. Access to the Easton Estate gardens outside of “open hours” is a real bonus as you can explore to your hearts content. It’s definitely on our list of properties to visit again.

We booked a stay in The Schoolhouse as were visiting Lincolnshire for a wedding on 13th August. The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully furnished as if someone had just stepped out for a moment. Everything was there we could wish for, including bread, cake, wine and sloe gin! The fitting out of the kitchen was particularly good and we even went and bought some of the Sophie Allport china to bring home! The bed was extremely comfortable, and to have a separate dining room made a small one bedroomed cottage appear very spacious. A gem!

Lovely accomodation, enjoyed location, local pub over the week. Daughters and friends came for a couple of nights and stayed at the pub. Nice chat to neighbours in old Post Office. Went to Wheatsheaf Inn one night - excellent. Also open air theatre nr Stamford, plus Belton Hall and grounds, plus Lincoln.
