The Experience

You’ll be hard pressed to find better value in the centre of town. The Lime Tree – two elegant Georgian townhouses – stands less than a mile from Buckingham Palace, with Westminster, Sloane Square and Piccadilly all a short stroll. Add warm interiors, kind owners and a smart gastropub waiting round the corner and you’ve unearthed a London gem. The airy dining room serves a mean breakfast and is soon to turn into a café, with light meals served throughout the day. Rooms are just the ticket: smart without being lavish, all with mod cons. Expect warm colours, crisp linen, attractive wallpaper and excellent bathrooms (most have big showers). One on the ground floor has doors onto the garden; others on first floor have high ceilings; those at the top (a few stairs!) are cosy in the eaves; rooms at the back are the quietest. The helpful staff are hands-on and will point you in the right direction, while there’s a tiny sitting room for guide books and a computer for guests to use. The Thomas Cubitt pub – 50 paces from the front door – serves great food. A very handy base for the Chelsea Flower Show.

Reviews

We had a fantastic stay at the Lime Tree. I thought how lovely it looked as we approached it (bonus it was near a tube station). Our room was lovely & bright & airy; with a lovely view of the garden. It was great that my friends & I could share a room, & just keep nattering constantly!! The bathroom was lovely & I really liked that there was conditioner in the shower as well as shampoo. After we checked in we went down to the Buttery & a delicious lunch & a cheeky cocktail. Thank you for a lovely stay, I've told all my work colleagues about your lovely hotel & hope to visit again soon. Charis

A great place to stay-- pleasant and helpful people, good breakfasts and a comfortable bed. A compact but tastefully decorated room and even a back garden for when the weather is warm. A good find.

Fabulous hotel in a great part of London. It was so warm and sunny when we arrived that we bought salads and picnicked in the garden for lunch - great to have some green space with little tables and chairs to enjoy when the weather is right. Our room was perfect - a very snug shower room but the room itself had plenty of space. Friendly staff were happy to help with luggage - and it was nice to have proper table service for breakfast rather than the standard buffet. Am sure I'll be back.

We can fully recommend the Lime tree. Next time we are planning a London trip we'll contact Lime tree. Walking distance to everything, if you like walking and just a few minutes from Victoria station and Gatwick. Clean rooms, quietly situated in nice and cozy Belgravia.

Christina, Stockholm

I can fully recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was above expectation and both the bedroom and bathroom were clean and in excellent condition. If we are in London again this where we will stay.

Local points of interest from

  • Belgravia is a terrific area to explore on foot - we like to browse the colourful boutiques on Elizabeth Street and then indulge in a slap up lunch at one of the lovely local pubs.
  • Sloane Square and the wonderful shopping of the Kings Road are just a five minute stroll from our door.
  • Chelsea Physic Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world and is a beautiful spot to get away from it all, well worth the 15 minute walk on a bright day!
