The Experience
You’ll feel happy to land in this grand spot surrounded by nature. Inside is light and bright with a clever mix of mid-century and antique furniture, pretty fabrics in cushions and blinds, some bold art and a merry wood-burner to keep you cosy even on the coldest days. You’ll find books and games for old-fashioned fun, a Roberts radio, and all you need in the kitchen to whip up lunches and suppers – including oil, herbs and spices.
The garden wraps itself around the pavilion with a lawn for sunbathing or games and a firepit and comfy seating for summer days and evenings. You’re on the edge of Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve for lovely walks spotting birds and ponies, places for wild swimming and signposted trails – all dog friendly.
Wander to the village pub or drive to the community shop to stock up with some delicious local food and bring it back for a cosy evening cooking, then snuggling in to watch a film.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're surrounded by nought but nature here. Garboldisham Village Store was voted best village shop by The Telegraph in June 2024 – you'll find most of what you need there including a community-run pub, The Fox Inn, which has food trucks most Saturdays. East Harling (four miles) has a bakery and a fish and chip shop. Wyken Vineyards is six miles for a restaurant, shop, vineyard and farmers' market.
Local points of interest from Holly Williams
- Folk Café, 30 minute drive. It’s worth the drive over to Fornham St Martins to grab a speciality coffee and some of the fine local produce at this friendly dog-welcoming café.
- The Fox Inn is a four minute drive. Down the road in Garboldisham, you'll find this cosy dog-friendly pub where you can grab a drink. Be sure to check out their regular nights or events.
- We are situated on the edge of Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve. It is a site of scientific special interest. There are wild ponies, wild swimming, and 6 signposted trails. It is dog friendly and one of the UK’s biodiversity hotspots.
- Award-winning Wooster’s Bakery is down the road in Bardwell. It was voted one of the best bakeries in the world and Nigella Lawson declares its malt loaf the best she has ever eaten.
- 2 miles down the road is Garboldisham Village Store. It is family run, stocks all the essentials and lots of fresh local produce. Voted the best village shop in East of England by The Telegraph, June 2024.

We loved our stay at the Pavilion. The interior is beautiful with everything you could need, from games and books to the bath and log burner, we felt right at home! The enclosed wrap-around garden was perfect for our dog Rupert, it meant that we would relax and let him explore. We loved being right on the doorstep to the heath nature reserve, with amazing views and beautiful walks from the door.
