The Experience
1400 feet above the Coquet valley floor and surrounded by acres of grasslands, heather-covered moors and forests, this is just the ticket for walkers, nature lovers and peace seekers. Back at your timber-clad cottage you’ll find an unfussy, calming vibe with a spacious living room, view-filled bedroom and a kitchen with plenty of bells and whistles. On cooler days you can light the wood-burner and snuggle down to watch a film while delving into the welcome hamper – chocolate, biscuits, fizz and more.
Views from your bed are stunning, through sliding doors and over the Cheviot Hills to Simonside. Outside is your own patio leading to a grassed area and newly planted trees. Lovely to sit out here and listen to the sound of birds, sheep and the wind in the trees. Better still, you can slide into your covered outdoor Shanti bath and soak in some Penhaligon’s bubbles.
Extras include holistic treatments and a stargazing pack for stunning skies.

A glorious week at Kidlandlee, stunning views and wonderful tranquillity. When you enter the property it is tastefully decorated, immaculate, spotlessly clean and smells fabulous! There is a generous, luxury gift bag as well as fresh bread, eggs, butter and milk. The property is supplied with all the toiletries and cleaning products you will need for your stay which is a great help. There are so many places to visit locally, and it’s great just to sit and enjoy the view as well. It is always such a treat to stay here.

The neighbourhood
The nearest shop/garage is eight miles away in Thropton although there are pubs four miles away in either Harbottle or Alwinton. Rothbury (14 miles) is a charming market town with some good shops and cafés; Alnwick is 18 miles for the wonderful castle, gardens and the fabulous Barter Books. The coast is just under an hour for castles, fine beaches with dunes and boat trips to the Farne Isles.

- Visit Craigside House! A wonderful day out for the whole family and doggies too. Building camps in the woods, nature trails, kayaking and canoeing on the lake. Beautiful gardens and house full of local history and inventions. Our favorite place to go!
- For Harry Potter fans! Alnwick Castle is a fantastic day out for all the family. Learn about the history of Alnwick and enjoy the beautiful award-winning gardens created by The Duchess of Northumberland. Activities, concerts, and magical fun!
- Barter Books is one of the biggest second-hand bookstores in the country. Great for rainy days. Preserved beautifully, it is located in the old Alnwick Train Station. Sit, read, and relax with a cuppa in restored waiting rooms with open fires. Dogs welco
- Holy Island and the Farne Islands are a great day out. Spot seals and puffins as you travel by boat. Visit the home of Grace Darling, Longstone Light House and find out how her amazing courage inspired the first lifeboats to patrol our shores.
- Alnmouth Beach is the start of amazing castle walks and the beach itself is stunning and the local’s favourite. The Village has amazing coffee shops and dog friendly pubs. Visit the School House Gallery for famous local artwork and cultural events.
- The Star Inn in Harbottle is loved by guests for its warm welcome and is at the heart of the community. You can dine in or pick up a takeaway on your way back to the cottage. It's dog friendly too so you can take them with you.

Introducing
Terri & Matthew Stock
Terri and Matthew moved to Kidlandlee Estate from Kent in 2017 with their children and two Labradors. Matthew had a renovation business which he has put to good use on the cottages and buildings, and Terri was a stage manager in the theatre in London for a number of years. They hope their guests enjoy the peace and tranquillity, have fun exploring the hills, valleys and beaches and totally unwind during their stay.
Beautiful place, so peaceful with a view across the Cheviot hills to die for! The accommodation certainly warrants luxury status and I can’t think of anything that Terri and Matthew have not thought about to include in this wonderful space 😊 However, running through the whole estate is their strong commitment to sustainability and support for the local people and economy! We spoke to several local people including people running other businesses in the area and could only find unanimous praise for Kidlandlee! The accommodation was absolutely spotless, so well done to the whole team!
