The Experience
Neil and Gill have been welcoming guests since 2005, many love it so much they return time and again. It’s easy to see why when you step inside to a roaring log fire in the inglenook, well-kept ancient tiles underfoot and old beams above. Pull up a stool at the traditional bar for a pint of ale or settle down in two cosy dining rooms for a delicious meal.
Imaginative seasonal menus change weekly and are packed with local produce and ingredients from Neil’s productive kitchen garden, topped up with choice picks from local allotmenteers who barter fresh veg for a drink or two. Whether you come for lunch before or after a hearty walk, or supper, it’s always a treat.
Five simple and peaceful annexe bedrooms overlook the colourful garden. You wake to a scrumptious home-cooked breakfast: kippers, smoked salmon, muesli and proper coffee. Stride out to rural Suffolk; Woodbridge, Southwold and the coast are all within touching distance.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're on the edge of Sibton village, with a house one side and gentle rolling open countryside on the other. Southwold, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh and the coast can all be reached in under 30 minutes. Visit the atmospheric ancient burial mounds at Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge. Serious ornithologists and bird lovers will delight in the rare bird haven at RSPB Minsmere (10 miles).
Local points of interest from Neil & Gill Mason
- RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve. Splendid woodland, wetland and coastal scenery, bursting with rare birds, otters, home of the booming bittern, beautiful butterflies and a wonderful arrangement of scented colourful flowers during the summer.
- Aldeburgh, 25 minutes away, pretty seaside town famous for its fish and chips. Colourful boats and fish sheds line the shingle beach selling their fresh catch. Shoppers delight with the hight streets many independent retailers.
- Southwold a thriving unspoilt seaside town. Visit Adnams brewery to make your own gin. Stroll the prom from the pier down to town with its shops and eateries. From the working harbour be rowed over the river to pretty Walberswick.
- Dunwich, once a large Anglo-Saxon port on par with London. Pop into the museum and discover the history behind the lost city under the sea. Explore the trails around the heath while building a thirst for the Ship, the only pub still standing.
- The magnificent 12th-century Framlingham Castle where in 1553, Mary Tudor became Queen of England. Stroll around the castle's mere, a Suffolk Wildlife reserve before going to the quaint square for refreshments in one of the coffee shops.
- Above are just a few places of interest that are close by to the Sibton White Horse, but believe us, there are many more. Should we have the privilege of your company, we would be delighted to provide more interesting places.
