The Tack Barn at Upper Lodge

What a wonderful stay in first class accommodation. Our host Corrina was delightful and full of advice for local gems to host. We had a restful stay and cannot fault the Tack Barn in any way.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to stay in such a beautiful and well-cared-for property, where every detail was so well thought out. An added treat was the abundant seasonal fruit and vegetables - truly a paradise (and inspiration) for gardeners!

This was an wondeful stay and Tack Barn is a beautiful place to stay in a lovely environment. The Corina and Dominic were excellent hosts and were very friendly offering lots of advice on places to visit. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

The perfect stylish hideaway for two. Corina was a welcoming and attentive host. Many attractive villages, historic towns, wonderful gardens and houses to visit within easy reach. Excellent places to eat and well stocked farm shops. A week was really not long enough!

If you like peaceful seclusion with easy access to all the Sussex Weald, the Downs and the coast have to offer, then The Tack Barn is the place to choose. This eco-friendly property is beautifully appointed with tranquil views over a natural Sussex pond. A welcome basket awaits its visitors, but that must remain a surprise! The owner is not only helpful and happy to share a few tips with her guests, but also offers access to her extensive orchard and vegetable garden for fresh fruit and vegetables when in season. Enjoy!

We had an enjoyable stay in Tack Barn which was set in peaceful, rural surroundings. Looking out onto woodland and a pond, it was easy to spend time in comfort watching the stormy clouds through the patio doors. The town of Lewes was only 10 minutes away and had plenty of great independent shops and cafes. We would happily stay there again.

Such a calm, peaceful and very comfortable place to stay.. I particularly loved being able to throw the bedroom french windows to let the morning in… Corina and Dominic were very welcoming, lovely extra touches meant such a lot.. beautiful fresh garden flowers in the house, welcome basket of goodies, picking veggies from the garden for dinner and being able to use the EV charger on site took away the angst of searching for chargers.. such a great base from which to explore the wonders of East Sussex. The Tack Barn is such a restful place to stay, with everything thought of and Corina is a wonderfully welcoming host. We particularly enjoyed sitting cosily in front of the log burner and watching the light outside fade. At another time of year, the outside table and decking in that woodland garden setting would be just perfect. We loved it.

What a find...very comfortable, clean, friendly, beautiful woodland setting. We loved the firepit! Looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed for a week in this lovely converted barn, which is very well equipped, comfortable, and quiet, in a beautiful rural area. The owners, Corine and Dominic, were very welcoming and helpful, and there are lots of interesting places to visit in the surrounding area.

The Tack Barn at Upper Lodge is a wonderful conversion of the highest architectural and design standards, matched by its environmental and sustainable credentials. Positioned on the edge of the National Park it has easy access to the countryside of the South Downs and the Weald, and to its unique cultural and artistic heritage and the regions growing arts and crafts businesses.

We are really pleased to have found the very stylish Tack Barn cleverly designed to attract light at all times of the day which also has a firepit and woodburner to provide night time ambience. Lovely artistic touches and attention to detail with information on hand if needed from our helpful hosts Corina and Dominic. A stay here offers total relaxation on site or is an ideal base for exploring villages and houses associated with the 'Bloomsbury Set' and historic Lewes. We look forward to returning to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and discover more of the beautiful South Downs. Thank you

We had a very pleasant stay at the Tack Barn, beautiful surroundings and set in a very peaceful woodland glade. The Barn is extremely well kitted out with everything you need. The owners are close by and very helpful. You can even fees the pigs and help yourself to garden produce. It is also well situated for the lovely town of Lewes, which in turn had easy rail links to the coast if you do not want to drive everywhere. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful fortnight's stay at the cosy Tack Barn with its rural setting and secluded forested area and fire pit straight off the rear deck. Corina is a charming hostess and actively encouraged us to help ourselves from the ample kitchen gardens and orchard. There were even chickens and piglets to feed! The surrounding Sussex countryside is the perfect mix of interesting walks, picturesque ancient villages and country pubs. We can't wait to come back...

Tack Barn is indeed a special place to stay! We had such a lovely time there and would very much like to return next year. Tack Barn is beautifully furnished and the setting is idyllic. We loved the grounds with their beautiful flowers, the pond and the chickens. Fresh lettuce from the vegetable garden was a special treat. When we did venture further afield than the vegetable garden we found Tack Barn an ideal base for exploring East Sussex and Kent. On top of all this, our hosts, Corina and Dominic, were delightful and ever helpful.

The Tackbarn provides the perfect getaway experience: fabulous setting, beautifully designed interior, thoughtful hospitality. It was wonderful to be surrounded by nature (the pond/lake and gardens are gorgeous) and yet so close to Lewes and Brighton. Probably the best self-catering place we've stayed in the UK. Can't wait to return....

The Tack Barn is beautifully thought out and has everything anyone could need for a peaceful few days. We shall return and would recommend it highly to anyone else wishing to explore a fascinating and historic part of Sussex.

The barn was delightful and had everything we could have needed, and was so pristine. We loved the welcome hamper of local goods (thank you for thinking of milk!). We were generously invited to enjoy the gardens, so we had blissful late summer afternoons watching the animals, wandering in the orchard, and lazing by the pond watching the fish leap in the sunshine. I’m not exaggerating to say there’s a scene worthy of Constable everywhere you look. We could have stayed forever.

Beautiful property, lovely owners and great area. We had a wonderful time staying at the Tack Barn - Corina is an amazing host who gave us so much helpful information about things to do and see in the area. The Barn is very thoughtfully renovated and includes access to the orchard and fruit and vegetable garden. Would highly recommend!

I was there for a week and it was an outstanding place to stay. Everything was provided to the highest standard and Corina couldn't have been more helpful, leaving delicious provisions (fresh juice, eggs, jam, milk etc.) and ensuring we had everything we needed. The barn is incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. The best nights' sleep I've had in ages. The location is perfect as a base for exploring East Sussex and the surrounding area. Can't recommend the Tack Barn highly enough.
