The Experience
As with the other houses on the Wern Estate, the attention to detail is second to none. The linen, the lighting, the plump feather pillows… each detail delights. This is an 18th-century, single-storey cottage whose gardens – with Llyn Peninsular views – are enclosed by sturdy stone walls. It’s perfect for young families. Enter a lofty, open-plan, clean-walled space where sitting room, dining room and kitchen blend into one. There are solid beech worktops and an eye-level oven, comfortable beige sofas topped with cushions, limed oak floors, a wood-burner (logs provided) and bursting bookshelves. The Pink Room has two single beds you can zip together and doors to a pretty sun terrace; the Yellow Room has a king-size bed, a vaulted ceiling and a long window seat for the views; the Green Room catches the sea. Outside in your own gardens the children can romp to their hearts’ content, while you sit back and celebrate the sunsets and stupendous views. Explore Black Rock Sands or haul yourself up Snowdonia, or let the little train take the strain – the mountain railway runs from early spring to November.

We had a fantastic break - perfect cottage for a family with young children. We loved playing in the enclosed garden and it was great not to have to worry about stairs. My son also really enjoyed being so close to the cows and sheep! Cottage was very clean and facilities were excellent. Fantastic location for exploring the coastline. Thank you for having us!

An outstanding rental cottage. Renovation and interior decoration were carried out to the highest standards. Great kitchen, well- appointed living area and comfortable bed. We fell asleep each night counting sheep in the adjacent field! Sitting outside in the sun with a view over the fields to the sea was very special. Just enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful Welsh countryside.

Hegob Bach is a beautifully furnished cottage in which our family (5 people) felt very comfortable for a week. Communication with Tamar and Kerrie is quick and courteous. The location is good for trips to both Snowdonia National Park (Mount Snowdon is a nice tour), Anglesey (visit Holyhead Lighthouse and enjoy fish & chips at White Eagle) or the Ty Coch Inn pub on the Lyn Peninsula. All in all very recommendable.

We’ve stayed in AirBnBs all over the world, literally and Hebog Bach is up there with all the best of them for all the right reasons. The difference this time was that it was our first trip away with Max, the lovely but lively spaniel! However, on arriving at Hebog Bach our first impression was, wow what a beautiful location and stunning views, our second impression on opening the door was wow, it’s so clean and smells lovely. It only got better from there. Bedrooms amazing...Stunning location, perfect holiday. Thank you.

We had a short break at Hebog Bach in March this year. As soon as we entered the cottage, we knew that we had made the right decision - the cottage was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Everything had been thought of to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The views from the patio were stunning - right across the Peninsula towards the sea. We will definitely come again.

Spent our Christmas 2022 family break at this property. Six adults, 2 dogs, in a wonderful property. The cottage was clean and tidy, warm, has a good log fire, and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing Christmas meals. The main bathroom and en-suite shower room are also very good, with a the shower room having a ‘wet room’ layout with lovely heated floor. The three bedrooms are also good with comfortable beds and thick duvets. Location wise. The property is just perfect. Surrounded by fields with a distant view of the sea with lots of walks nearby. A perfect holiday break.

A great little "retreat" nestled away in the countryside, surrounded by farms. House was wonderfully warm for our arrival on a cold, wet windy day, so good attention to details. Nice array of consumables supplied avoiding the need to rush out to the shops for bread and milk. All the mod cons, comfy beds, good WiFi, everything you need basically.

Great house, in a beautiful secluded surrounding. Close to both Criccieth, Porthmadog and Portmeiron. Very good restaurants in both the close towns but book well in advance. PortMeiron is a treat but again if you want to eat there ion either of the hotel or castle restaurant, book well in advance. The beach is fabulous, long sand spaces for the dogs to run.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. The views are breathtaking and you can watch the sunset over the sea. The cottage is beautifully decorated with everything you need. Upon arrival we also had a lovely hamper with everyday basics plus some great treats. This home is great to escape the busy world and relax. Perfect location to explore the stunning beaches and awesome national park. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

I was for looking for a base from which to do some triathlon-training, and get a break from city life. We had some friends come and visit too. The house is very well-appointed, very cozy and comfortable, and perfectly situated to feel very peaceful and quiet, but still have quick and easy access to towns for supplies and restaurants etc. It’s the perfect setup for a relaxing getaway, and surrounded by excellent options for hiking, running, cycling, swimming, and surfing. We love Hebog Bach!

Local points of interest from Wern Holiday Cottages
- 2000 acre private country estate surrounded by ancient oak woodlands with a trout-filled lake you can fish. There are stunning views across the Llyn Peninsula.
- You can fish in our private lake at a very reasonable cost. Our lake has been stocked solely for the use of our guests.
- Portmeirion is only a short drive away - created by Clough Williams-Ellis (the owner of the cottage is his great nephew) this quirky Italianaite village is full of surprises. Iconic architecture, scenic walks, restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours!
- Llanbedrog is a charming little seaside village with a superb beach and the most famous line of beach huts in Wales. Visit the Oriel Plas Glyn Y Weddw Gallery - see the owner's (David) sculpture "Louise" in the garden. Lovely tea room with homemade cakes
- Black Rock Sands is a must - The beach is so vast that you can drive your car onto it. Perfect for dog walking, shell collecting, windsurfing or just having a good old run about.
- We include a lovely welcome pack and a basket of our own logs for the woodburning stove.
