The Experience
Through a village encircled by rivers, around twisting lanes and grassy farm tracks: you’ll arrive to a cosy country cottage surrounded by fields. It’s an efficient working farm – modern buildings sit alongside – with cattle and sheep to greet and a friendly farmer’s wife to show you the sights.Fire up the wood-burning stove in the open-plan living room with its large table for family meals. A big, open staircase leads up to three calming bedrooms with farm and fields views. Gardens are shared with the other two cottages in the row – take all three if you’re a larger group.Villages surround you and walks are plentiful and varied: along rivers, over hills, to the distant Berwyn Mountains if the mood takes. Kayaks, zip-lines, quad bikes and horses can all be found locally, plus four National Trust houses within the hour.

Location
The neighbourhood
Special for being surrounded by unspoilt countryside. Little Llansantffraid (three miles) has shops and a handful of pubs – The Station Grill is great for steaks. Welshpool (seven miles) is the nearest big town, with more just over the border in Shropshire and Cheshire. There’s lots going on at Collfryn Farm with cows and sheep to visit – Christine will give you a tour and point out the best walks.
Local points of interest from Christine Edwards
- All bedrooms can be made into twin rooms with the zip and link beds on request.
- The nearest village of Llansantffraid has plenty of places for food. The Station Grill is a super restaurant. Indian and Fish Chip takeaways too.
- Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Chirk Castle, Llanfair Light Railway, Montgomeryshire Canal, British Ironworks are just some of the days out on offer within half an hour of the cottages.
- The towns of Welshpool, Oswestry and Shrewsbury have lots to offer visitors from local produce markets, quirky shops, theatre, climbing walls, trampoline centres, plenty of cafes to relax in etc...
- There is plenty of wildlife to see at the cottages such as the family of hares, kingfisher, curlews, red kites, yellowhammers etc...
- Watch the organic Spring lambs in the surrounding fields or the cows grazing. Take the children to look at new born calves and lambs by arrangement.

Introducing
Christine Edwards
The owners live in an imposing farmhouse over the road but are hands off when it comes to the cottages. Instead, the farm manager’s wife will greet you and be on call during your stay. Christine’s a jolly sort and immensely helpful – she can organise visits to see the animals and tell you about this first-prize winning organic farm.
The Dairy is situated at a farm down windy country lanes, with rolling hills and open spaces around. The cottage itself is very spacious with large rooms and an open living room with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, oven, fridge, freezer and microwave. We stayed 5 adult and a toddler for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- very much recommended!
