The Experience
Walk in to an open-plan living room with a tiled floor, comfy seating and a wood-burner for cold nights. Ceilings are heavily beamed, the walls are of exposed stone and the feel is traditional and French. The kitchen, brimming with kit including good knives, china and coffee making machines, is just off here for convivial evenings cooking and chatting. Watch the sun sink spectacularly from the west facing terrace.
Bedrooms upstairs are bright and spacious with good views over the countryside, crisp bed sheets and thick mattresses – one can be a twin. Start your days eating breakfast (freshly-baked croissants are delivered each morning) in your own garden, subtly divided by hedges from the other wing, so you’ll feel quite private.
Walk mown paths past a pond and a field of donkeys, forage in the Sunday market at Issigeac for the best vegetables, charcuterie, bread and honey. Return to unwind in the deep peace.

Location
The neighbourhood
There is a boulangerie in Issigeac and the village is an architectural gem of Roman through Renaissance architecture. Narrow winding streets come alive on Sunday mornings with the great market that attracts stall holders and visitors from miles around. This is bastide country so plenty of castles and the Dordogne River further away for family outings. Visit vineyards, taste good wines.
Local points of interest from Nathalie & Tim Cointault
- Surrounded by the beautiful verdant French countryside, begin the day by taking a morning stroll around the 7 hectare estate, or simply enjoying the morning on the terrace with some freshly baked croissant, delivered by our local bakery.
- Then, whether choosing to spend the day relaxing poolside or taking to the winding country roads visiting the local attractions will be the biggest decision to make during your stay, or why not do both .
- At the end of the day, dinner on the terrace watching the sunset slowly replaced by star-filled night sky, to the chorus of nature's night choir, with a bottle of the region's world class wine makes the day complete.
- A 5 Minute drive finds you in the village of Issigeac. Harking back to Roman times the village has acted as a hub for market activities since its conception. Sundays see the village streets being converted to a vibrant, bustling marketplace, a must see.
- The location makes it the perfect base for the more adventurous who are looking to explore this truly magnificent region. Aquitaine abounds with history, bastides, medieval villages, chateaux, river adventures, world-class vignerons, truffles, etc etc...

Introducing
Nathalie & Tim Cointault
Nathalie and Tim bought the property in October 2021 and have had a busy winter and spring bringing it up to scratch. They and their friendly spaniel live nearby and are on hand to help if you need them but will otherwise leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday.
Perfect for a family group; enjoy the tranquility and the chance to be together but separate if wanted. Wander the path around the property, pet the donkeys, enjoy the views within and outside the Domaine.
