L'Esprit des Chartrons

L'Esprit des Chartrons is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Bordeaux. The location is ideal, very quiet street but nearby lots of amazing local restaurants (no tourist traps here!). It's also a short walk away from the centre of Bordeaux. The space itself is beautiful and has all you need - private balcony, comfortable bed and a shared communal space. Brigitte was a great host and always quick to respond. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay in Bordeaux.

We spent 2 nights at L'Esprit des Chartrons, not long enough! It is a very comfortable B&B, and close to the centre of Bordeaux. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Also it offers car parking if you are touring. Brigitte is an excellent and responsive host. Highly Recommended.

A beautiful place to stay in beautiful Bordeaux. The Chartrons area is full of life and only a short walk from the historical centre, but the street is calm plus the bedrooms are at the back of the house. The rooms stay cool even in summer heat thanks to the thick walls. The owner was away, but her husband provided the excellent breakfast and made sure we were well taken care of. The communal space is a charming bonus on top of the very comfortable room (Montesquieu).

We had a lovely stay at L´Esprit des Chatrons. The room was very cosy and every room has an own beautiful terrace. It´s an excellent location, absolutely quiet, but within easy walking distance of Bordeaux´s attractions.

L'Esprit des Chartrons is a real haven of calm, right in the heart of Bordeaux. Each room has its own unique décor, and I personally loved personal touches such as paintings made by Brigitte. I could see myself sipping a glass of rosé on my own terrace after a day of exploring the city, or lounging with a book in the cosy living room by the wood burner on a winter's day! Very special.

Lovely place with good-sized quiet and comfortable rooms decorated in lightly funky style. Our room (Mauriac) gave on to a little terrace on an inner courtyard. Excellent location with a tram stop at the end of the street. Secure parking is a real boon (although getting the car in and out takes careful manouvering). Brigitte gave us good advice on places to eat nearby. We would definitely return. Takes credit cards.

Beautiful place, ensuite room with all modern & new facilities: separate w.c, walk in shower, room around basin for toiletries. Our room had an industrial theme but had the most comfortable bed & pillows (not always the case in France!). Fresh clean linens and fluffy white towels. Kettle, tea & coffee too. Room even had a private terrace and a communal lounge area with great gas log burner! All really tasteful and classy, with innovative & interesting design. Brigitte provided a super breakfast and the best coffee of our trip! Plus parking on site and in central Bordeaux...a fabulous find!

Beautifully converted building with separate en-suite rooms and situated in a quaint part of town about 10 mins on the excellent & frequent tram service into the centre. The owner is a lovely lady who was very attentive and spent time telling us places to visit and to see. Breakfast was lovely, typically French and with several black and green teas to choose from (which were amazing) as well as the norm. Would definitely recommend it as a good place to explore
