The Experience
You arrive, through gently wooded countryside, to an easy welcome and a feeling of tranquillity – hens strut the cottagey garden; the farm’s 17th-century frame is full of fresh charms. Take a room with its own terrace for even more space, and sit out to ponder the day – with a glass of Anne’s apple juice.
She’ll happily help you plan your time… be as sporty as you like; pretty much everything from golfing to angling is on hand. Without the car: there are cross-country footpaths to follow and you’re a stroll from the nearest sandy beach. It’s a short drive to attractive fishing ports, villages and towns– see the day’s catch landed at Le Guilvinec, take a boat from Bénodet to the Iles Glénan.
Quimper and Concarnau are known for fine food and Sainte Marine’s harbour-side eateries are nearby – fish, and crêpes, are specialities, of course.

What a delight. Ann's hospitality is most generous and the accommodation is excellent. The tiem and effort with which everything is decorated and arranged is a tribute to our hostess. Breakfast is quite something else - different treasures appear from Ann' kitchen each morning in seemingly endless variety. All in all a treasure and we'll certainly be back.

An excellent B & B, in a good location for exploring south west Brittany and close to the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for our host Anne, who was happy to give advice about the area and provided treats for guests to help themselves. Breakfast was delightful and the accommodation first class.

Location
The neighbourhood
Hiking and riding trails surround the farm and the nearest fine sandy beach at Kermor is a 1k walk. The restaurants and cafes of Sainte-Marine harbour, and Ile-Tudy are a 5-minute drive; so too is beachy Bénodet which also has a golf course, casino, thalassotherapy, sailing, angling, and boat trips – 1hr to the glorious Iles Glénan. Quimper with its cathedral and potteries is 20 minutes; walled Concarneau with its excellent museums, a little less.
Local points of interest from Anne & Bruno Porhiel
- You are in the perfect location to explore the south of South Brittany since Sainte Marine is located halfway between Pont Aven and the Pointe du Raz.
- Quimper, cathedral, museums and potteries. Concarneau, the walled city, the museum of fishing and creperies. Pont-Aven, the road painters and Impressionism.
- At nearby beaches find all water sports (sailing, fishing, kayaking, surfing). There are two golf courses within 5 km. Walking; the farm is located in the heart of hiking trails.
- The area is also good for cycling and horse riding.
- Loctudy and Ile Tudy, the auction, angling, sailing school, bike rides. Benodet, its thalassotherapy, golf course and casino.
- Sainte-Marine, a large beach, terraces on its picturesque ports and its chapels.L'Odet and Glénan islands.

Introducing
Anne & Bruno Porhiel
Anne is a really warm people-person and proudly Bretonne; she was born in Quimper and worked in PR before creating, with husband Bruno, their coastal country B&B and home. You’ll sample her love of cooking; evidence of her passion for interior design is everywhere and some of her own art hangs on the walls here. The natural world, her garden and her engaging hens, are also dear to her and – of course - she’s super-knowledgeable about Brittany.
How nice to be greeted by Anne's hens as you arrive! The location is superb, in the countryside but so close to the beach and the picturesque harbour of Sainte-Marine. Anne made us feel very welcome, and her B&B feels like the perfect place to unwind. The rooms are very spacious and two of them have their own private terrace... perfect for a little al fresco aperitif after a day of exploration! The area has a lot to offer, from boat trips to the Glénan islands or on the Odet river, to coastal walks or visits of the nearby fishing villages. I would love to come and stay.
