The Experience
On the prestigious Avenue de Champagne, this 19th-century mansion was once the home of champagne magnate Eugène Mercier; old family photos still line the staircase and the staff can tell you which room belonged to whom. Find an enticing balance of traditional French with contemporary touches: walls the colour of whipped cream, furniture Louis XVI, soft yielding curtains and gracious parquet floors.
There’s modernity in flat-screens and WiFi, pampering in the bathrooms – all a good size – with fluffy towels and products by Lalique; it earns the five stars the owner is so proud of. The buffet breakfast is an array of homemade cakes, tarts, yogurts and breads, served in the light-filled conservatory – whose mosaic floor has been lovingly restored – or in the garden with its heated summer pool, colourful beds and young palm trees.
Relax on the south-facing sun terrace, splash in the outdoor pool or dip into the hot tub.

Villa Eugene is a delightful Small Hotel with Champagne at its heart, or more precisely, the Mercier Cellars underneath. We enjoyed a recently renovated mini-suite in the attic - very tasteful and contemporary. the Bar and Breakfast rooms were well presented and the staff helpful and attentive. The location is a pleasent walk along the Ave de Champagne from the town center where there is a great selection of restaurants. This was an ideally presented place to stay while enjoying the Reims area.

This was our 2nd visit. Wonderful as before. The room was beautifully designed in a very funky, contemporary style . Great breakfast and pool where we could socialize with other guests. Well worth another visit!
