The Experience
This handsome Neoclassical house is surrounded by ancient trees and feels secluded and peaceful, although the town square is a few minutes’ walk away and the nearest restaurant, a cheap and cheerful bistro called Le Sexton, is a 15-minute walk.
The modern, light-filled apartments have well-equipped kitchens stocked with the basics, and eco-conscious Sandra leaves natural, organic soaps and shampoo in the bathrooms too. She lives in one wing with her family – meet their pet guinea pigs and rabbits, walk through the woods to see the goats and help yourself to eggs from the hens.
Take the little rowing boat out on the lake, or borrow bikes to explore the town or nearby beach. The garden has several barbecue areas facing the lake, and the small spa has an indoor pool, a sauna, and a cupboard stocked with toys and games for children.

Location
The neighbourhood
Ver-sur-Mer's little town square has a convenience shop, butchers, bakers and a small bar/café; the beach has a wild feel, with a nature reserve on the dunes home to several rare birds and plants. British troops landed on Gold Beach during the D-Day invasion and the America Gold Beach Museum pays tribute to them. The seaside resort of Courseulles, a 10-minute drive away, has good restaurants - try Le Catleya and La Maison Bleue - and a daily market where you can buy fish straight off the boats.
Local points of interest from Sandra Leconte
- The Castle Cote de Nacre is located on Gold Beach and he's neighbor of the new British Memorial Normandy.
- The castle is located on the landing beaches ideally located near Caen, Bayeux, between Mont St Michel and Etretat.
- Apartments are huge compared to classic offers. The smallest one is 930 sq ft when the biggest one is 1240 sq ft. Ideal to relax on holidays with families and friends.
- Every day you can go for a walk to the port of Courseulles to go buy fresh fish and barbecue in the garden of the castle.
- D-Day Museum is 8.4 km from Château Côte de Nacre, while Museum of the Bayeux Tapestry is 15 km away. The nearest airport is Caen–Carpiquet Airport, 29 km from the accommodation.

Introducing
Sandra Leconte
Sandra moved to Normandy from Paris in 2019 with her family and quickly got the apartments up and running. She is really welcoming and easy-going, and previously held a senior position in marketing which involved much international travel so speaks fluent English and Spanish. They live here with their beagle.
Contemporary clutter free interiors in a handsome 19th century chateau. The garden and lake are splendid and the spa and pool another great plus. A super base for a long weekend with loads of things to discover nearby.
