Hotel Marotte

The spa takes up the basement in one of the buildings: hammam, sauna, hot and cold pools, scented showers, massage and fitness rooms – you could loll down here all day. Each bedroom is different in size and furnishings but all are spick and span, and have seating areas, TVs, magazines in your own language, local macarons, fresh milk for teas and coffee, smart en suite bathrooms, mini fridges with beer and wine.

Breakfast (continental or the full works) can be delivered to your room if you prefer but usually happens in the dining room: fresh fruit salad, croissants, homemade jam, pancakes, cheeses and eggs, omelettes, fresh pastries and much else, all locally sourced and served at the table – no sterile buffet tables here! There is a quiet courtyard or a closed terrace to sit with a newspaper afterwards.

Leave your car safely in the hotel’s private car park and step out, feeling relaxed, to discover the history of pretty Amiens.
