The Experience
A handsome brick house built in 1712 for the Visitandine nuns in this pious (at the time) area. You have the run of two separate sitting rooms and two dining rooms so plenty of space to spread out, and if you want complete quiet then the suites also have places to sit, read or work. Help yourselves to delicious breakfasts served buffet style from the kitchen: homemade jams, local honey, home-baked pastries, scones and cakes (Eric is a pastry chef) along with local cheeses, eggs and fresh fruit.
It’s worth booking in for dinner (up to three times a week) where Eric is inspired to cook what he finds in the market that morning and serves with good beers and wines. Bedrooms, all upstairs, are named after roses and are very different in style, but all have fine linen sheets and lovely views; bathrooms are en suite.
Wander the pretty garden, chat to the happy hens, cool off in the large, landscaped pool or stroll into town.

Introducing
Eric Chabot-Smyth
Warm and charming Eric (already introduced as the expert pastry chef) and Florence (a lawyer) bought the house several years ago from a family who had owned it since 1810. They spent two years getting the house ready for guests and their enthusiasm for their joint project is palpable.
Les Myrrophores is a secret oasis of tranquility, comfort and charm on a quiet road in Abbeville. The flower-filled garden is full of birdsong, the quiet cluck of the free range hens and the bubble of the heated outdoor pool! Bliss! There is a sunny courtyard for reading, relaxing or an early evening apéro, in-fact it was hard to drag ourselves away to find dinner. Our room in the eaves was nicely styled. Lovely linens on the bed and in the bathroom. Breakfast the next day was deliciously French and very generous. Eric is a charming host and sensitive to his guests needs to chat or not. 5*****
