The Experience

There’s a gift of a view here: old Paris crookedly climbing to the Sacré Cœur. Your interesting, cultured, hosts, Isabelle and photographer Jacques, are well-travelled. Beautiful great tomes of Jacques’ images of Paris, Morocco and various exotic destinations fill an entire shelf and his framed photos mingle with good eclectic art in their drawing/dining room. Breakfast may be in here, or out on the flowery, suntrap balcony. Your big white bedroom off the landing has an independent entrance; find a modern, airy space filled with more photos and books, lamps and colourful rugs –  all peaceful in its rooftop seclusion.

Reviews

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Paris and enjoyed the most exceptional hospitality and warmth of Isabelle and Jacques. Their beautiful apartment in this classic Hausmann house was a joy to behold the moment we stepped inside. Set in the vibrant area of Pigalle, Isabelle gave us superb recommendations for restaurants and a cultured perspective as a native Parisian. We loved the fresh croissants for breakfast and the fascinating collection of photographs and artworks. Thank you so much for a very lovely and memorable stay.

This B&B is so lovely you couldn't ask for more!! Isabelle and Jacques are the best hosts I have ever met in Paris - I have been impressed very much not only with the superb room decorations and the stunning view from the balcony but the couple's hospitality for the entire three days (I asked for black coffee with no cow's milk, then they even got sheep cheese for my breakfast). I will definitely come back for a lovely chat with them again. Highly recommended!!

We can thoroughly recommend this for B & B. Isabelle, who has good English, and Jacques are charming and most helpful and cultured hosts. A bit of a chat with them over breakfast is all part of your visit and they are so knowledgeable. (It's a must for keen photographers: Jacques has worked with Henri Cartier Bresson and Isabelle is his great neice!). You have your own entrance off the staircase but take the lovely breakfast in their apartment only a few steps across the landing. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable with excellent en suite and views across the rooftops.

Enjoy a wonderful view of the Sacre Coeur whilst having breakfast. Isabel and Jacques apartment is beautifully decorated. Our room were clean spacious. As hosts Isabel and Jacques were friendly, warm and extremely helpful.

Wonderful space with a seperate entrance at the very top of a beautiful old parisian building. A small hide away from all the traffic with a fantastic view from the balcony to Sacre Coeur. We appreciated the morning conversation with Jaques et Isabel bevor having our nicely arranged breakfast in the livingroom that was fantastically sunny in the morning hours. Excelent japanese restaurant near by, metro station walking distance and a public parking right opposite, for those who come by car. It was a joy to get to know Isabel & Jaques. Merci et à la prochaine!

I has a wonderful stay with my daughter in this B&B. Isabelle and Jacques were perfect hosts. The sightseeing tips are better than You get from any guide book. breakfast is super, everything fresh and good quality. Room is big and nicely furnitured. Bathroom is also very fresh and clean. I would definately go back.

We spent 2 nights here while visiting Paris. Isabelle and Jacques are charming and made us so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. They helped us decide where to visit in Paris and our route on the Metro. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit salad, croissants, wonderful cake and jams and no problem when we wanted a small lie in one morning. They are both extremely interesting, Jacques signing one of his books for us, he is a renowned French photographer.

Jane

Contemporary but cosy bolt-hole hidden behind an impressive entrance with pleasant walking distance from the metro. Fairly quiet local area with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Guests have a separate entrance into a lovely bedroom and compact modern bathroom area. The apartment has fantastic views over Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. Isabelle and Jacques were hospitable, truly parisienne and very helpful. We couldn't praise too highly - can't wait to revisit.

Angela

Marvelous combination of cordiality, professionalism, and location. Isabel and Jacques could not have been more accommodating, especially with their recommendation of 'don't miss' sites and places to visit. We have visited Paris before, but this time we used this B&B as our nest from which we visited Rouen, Auvers sur Oise, and all touristy places in between. Wonderful private bedroom and large toilette and shower., which was much appreciated. Would highly recommend Cote Montmartre to those who wish to meet Parisiens and discover the real Paris. Marvelous experience.

We stayed for our honeymoon at Cote Monmatre in 2010. I have very belatedly come to write a review as it was such stand-out accommodation: refined, pared-back, warm and friendly. Breakfast on the balcony and wine with the lovely hosts remain embedded in my mind. The room was very chic too, and we appreciated having our own entrance from the stairway. Highly recommended.

Isabelle & Jacques were just superb hosts. Their B & B is in the perfect location in Paris with breakfast on the balcony looking up to the Sacre Coeur. Jacques photography is an unexpected treat as well. Isabelle went to no end of trouble helping us navigate our way around Paris. Perfect hosts, perfect location, perfect accommodation.

Rod

Isobel and Jacques are perfect hosts. The B&B is excellent. We would definitely stay there again and enjoy the amazing breakfasts, the comfy bed and great shower room.

Victor

We have been travelling to Paris for years, but never found a place that we wanted to return to. Finally, we have one. We stayed for 4 days at the spacious, bright, tastefully decorated room, with stylish and top quality furniture, bed-linen, towels etc. The shower is an amazing treat which gives a feeling of bathing in nature. Sumptious breakfast. Isabelle and Jacques are the most welcoming hosts, who will do the utmost to cater to all your needs. A Perfect location in the upcoming SoPi area-with lots of lovely restaurants, and a walking distance to the Place de Opera.

Yehuda

A unique and inviting experience will await anyone who visits Isabelle and Jacques stunning apartment. The room was not only beautifully decorated, peaceful and centrally located, but also held a spectacular view towards the Sacre Coeur. Breakfast was delicious and presented in a warm and inviting manner by two wonderful and interesting hosts. Thank you to you both for making our visit to Paris , especially Montmartre one that will remain special for always. We shall definitely be back!

karen

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay at Cote Montmartre in April. The accommodation was spotless, bright and airy with everything you could need to be comfortable, and across the stairway from our hosts' apartment so we didn't have to worry about our small son disturbing them. Isabelle and Jacques could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The location is great, too - walking distance to Gare de Nord and Montmartre, and close to the metro. We will definitely be back!

  • Breakfast on the terrace looking out on the Sacre-Coeur in good weather.
  • Our place is close to busy area like Montmatre and the opera but very quiet in our street. There are 3 Metro lines and buses which take you to various parisian spots.
  • 3 minutes walking to South Pigalle , very trendy area with many authentic restaurants.Le Bouillon Pigalle, Le Dépanneur, Les Pinces, La Bonne Maison.....
  • We are in a typical parisian building from the Haussmann period.
