The Experience
Benoit’s carefully restored 1903 villa is three minutes’ walk from the famous beach of La Baule, at the peaceful end of the bay. Its swimming pool takes up most of the palm-fringed courtyard and its rooms – ground floor Les Pins, the biggest – are classy in an old-meets-new way: bold modern wallpaper, polished, original floorboards, local art. Bathrooms are generous, and striking – one’s very New York 20s, another is lined with huge marble tiles. Breakfast jams and cakes are a homemade treat in the conservatory; the salon has an open fire, books, games, hot drinks. Your charming host, passionate about La Baule, will guide you.

Benoit is in his element and has created a wonderful oasis. Truly an excellent stay in a beautifully modernised and decorated house. Breakfast was heavenly ... home made jams (kiwi & lemon was wonderful), fresh fruit salads and a good strong coffee. 5 minutes from good restaurants / the beach .... ask Benoit for recommendations and you won't go wrong. He is also very knowledgeable / passionate about La Baule.

Great position close to beach and restaurants and yet a quiet oasis of calm. Beautifully decorated room and shower and absolutely charming helpful host with a great chic dinner recommendation. Highly recommended and would stay here again for a longer period, real home away from home.

We have had a wonderful stay at Villa la Ruche. Benoit made us very welcome and made us feel very much at home. Lovely breakfast and gorgeous home made jams! The villa is ideally situated to nearby bars and restaurants including the local market. Benoit has plenty advice if you want to explore the region, we where there for 6 days and found plenty to do and places to visit. We stayed in Les Pins room and it's exactly the same as the pictures, perfectly clean and very comfortable. We very much hope to visit Villa La Ruche again. Thank you Benoir.

Great location just a stroll away from the town and a delicious breakfast with homemade yoghurt, fruit salad, fresh coffee, jams and pastires, what more could you ask for! One night was not enough!

Villa La Ruche is the perfect place to relax, enjoy Bretagnes Atlantic Coast and visit the inspiring city of Nantes. We stayed in Room Atlantique, a cosy, fresh and light room to stay after a day full of sight seeing in the area. Benoît is one of the most welcoming hosts we have ever met: welcoming, helpful when you need it and a good source if you are interested in knowing a bit more about La Baule history. His breakfast is amazing, the pool is a perfect place to cool down on a hot summer day and the garden is perfect places for reading a good book. We will be back, until next time Benoît
