San Giovanni di Montenero

San Giovanni di Montenero is everything you would associate with rustic elegance amongst terrific scenery. Our room was extremely comfortable, quite unique and full of charm. The breakfast is quite outstanding in every respect and even more so when it’s outside on the patio, a haven of tranquillity. If you so wish there is the opportunity to sample her cuisine in the evening which we did and thankfully we did. Carol is your consummate host and nothing is too much trouble whatever your needs. Look no further!

This was an anxious return visit to San Giovanni following the sad loss of my beloved wife Deb. For us, this is and will always be, a very special place to spend time relaxing. I need not have worried as Carol, Antonio and their family made me feel very welcome at this difficult time. The wonderful hospitality was everything I remembered from our previous visits. Breakfast, dinner, the views, the pool and suggestions of where to visit and eat, were all first class, as was the accommodation.

Somewhere to utterly relax and unwind, Carol and Antonio have created the perfect bolthole just for two. An ideal place for those who appreciate waking up each morning to stunning views, sumptuous breakfasts served when you feel like it on Carol's exquisite hand-painted maiolica, yet all within easy reach of the best Umbria has to offer

If luxury is guest care, what we have experienced in these days is super luxury. The attentions of Carol, Antonio and their family, the care, the rich and beautiful breakfasts, the gluten-free bread and homemade cakes to satisfy a celiac guest, their discreet presence but always attentive and warm, the many advice to enhance the excellence of their rich territory. Thank you Carol and Antonio for having decided to allocate this portion of your beautiful house to welcome guests!

Staying here was such a wonderful treat. It was perfect in every way. Peace and tranquility, fabulous food and such friendly hosts. It was like staying with friends but we also had our privacy. We really will be back we hope. If you get the chance to stay here do- you will not regret it.

Our stay with Carol and her family was unforgettable. The B&B was decorated brilliantly and left in all its authenticity. The breakfast and meals were so full of taste, inspired and yet simple, it's incredible how she manages to do this all. Although we don't want to many people discovering this gem, we must say that it is one of the nicest places we ever stayed.

This was one of the nicest B & 's we have ever stayed in. Every comfort both inside and outside. Stunning views, a gorgeous pool, everything it says on the tin and more. Carol and her lovely family went out of their way to offer us a home from home experience and cooked the most delicious evening meals on both nights. We could not recommend San Giovanni di Montenero higher.

We had a really lovely time at San Giovanni. It was like staying in a private villa, with a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by fragrant rosemary and views all to ourselves and no need to have to see other people's ghastly tattoos. Carol was so friendly, it was like staying with old family friends, without having to feel we were invading each others privacy. I would highly recommend staying here to enjoy this lovely area. Tips from Carol and her husband added to the quality of our experience, as does her lovely crockery some of which we purchased and which now graces our home.

Amazing place and amazing hosts! We had the most relaxing time during our stay - the room was lovely; the breakfast was spot-on and the views were epic! Carol and Antonio kept us fed and watered during our stay and made some great recommendations for places to visit and go for food. Thank you to the whole family (including Jake the lab) for making our stay so memorable!

The perfect Umbrian home away from home. Nestled into the hills the B&B is close enough to explore but far enough away to relax. Spacious, beautifully decorated apartment with no detail overlooked by the warm and welcoming hosts. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

This is a perfect place to stay in a beautiful part of Italy. Carol and her family were extremely welcoming and helpful, but at the same time weren't intrusive. The room was spacious and interesting, as well as being very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and served on an idyllic terrace. We would love to return.

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights at San Giovanni. The description on the main page is absolutely accurate but what it struggles to convey is the warmth of the welcome from Carol & Antonio, and how perfectly they look after you. Nothing is too much trouble and you can be as private as you want to be or you can become a "guest of the family". The private suite is very comfortable, the setting is lovely and there are excellent restaurants with Umbrian cuisine nearby. If you are looking for the perfect B&B for two people in Umbria, look no further than this! 10/10

We have had a wonderful stay at San Giovanni di Montenero. The apartment looked very nice, the swimming pool was great and so was the garden. Carol and Antonio were very nice company and they made us feel more than at home, providing us with many ideas and tips for sight seeing etc. Surely a beautiful and comfortable B&B, on a very quiet, yet central location in Umbria.

Carol and Antonio gave us a really warm welcome. The accommodation was very charming and cosy (the bed in particular was really comfy). Loads to see in the surrounding area and all in all we had a fabulous time.
