The Experience
Leave your car at the bottom of the hill, a buggy will collect you and take you to the hotel which sits in the middle of a sprinkling of white houses clinging to the hillside and with narrow streets, no cars.
Wake to glorious views over roof tops to the hills beyond: the vibe is part Spanish, part Moroccan and bedrooms radiate out from a central patio where you breakfast at separate tables – Alex is a chef so this is a treat with yogurts, breads and specially cooked eggs. They offer home-cooked dinners twice a week. There’s a cool-off pool here too and inside you’ll find a library with books and games.
Head into the lively town square for plenty of bars and people-watching – you’re slap bang in the middle of all the action with townsfolk gossiping and children playing so you’ll feel very Spanish. The curious will enjoy exploring the old town but there’s plenty of glitz too.

Location
The neighbourhood
The Plaza de Andalucía is around the corner from the hotel and is the heart of this traditional village. When the sun is a little lower, tapas are eaten, the children play around the fountain and you can sip Fino wine. A ten-minute drive will take you to Marbella for miles of sandy beach, smart hotels and fish restaurants, lovely old town with interesting architecture. Ronda is just over an hour.
Local points of interest from Alex & Esther Leenen
- The white Andalusian village of Ojén is a good 10 minutes drive from Marbella and the coast of the Costa del Sol. Straight up in the Mountains. This idyllic location offers the advantage of being close to the lively tourist scene without having to be in.
- A village square where you can sit and enjoy your “Cafe con Leche” in the early morning or your ice cold glass of San Miguel in the late afternoon. Where the Spanish children are playing around the fountain and restaurants offer tapas for reasonable prices
- The coast with its beautiful beaches isn’t the only thing which is quick and easy to get to from Ojén, but also almost 50 golf courses, Malaga airport and the national park of Sierra de las Nieves to name but a few notable things.
- Ojén is the perfect base from which you can discover a beautiful part of Andalusia. This area has many beautiful attractions from the beautiful Pueblos Blancos, that are scattered throughout the region to the big cities of Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada.
- A lot of daytrips can be made: like a visit to Ronda, spotting orca´s near Tarifa, guided bike tour in Malaga, the Camino del Rey or even a visit to Marroco.
- In the village of Ojén there are some houses for rent as well. We offer townhouses with a sunny roof terrace and a finca with its own swimming pool. People renting can use the swimmingpool of the hoytel and come for all kinds of information

Introducing
Alex & Esther Leenen
Esther and Alex sold their restaurant in the Netherlands and are the new owners here. With their three children they live in a beautiful blue and white house opposite the hotel. They have dived into village life and the two younger children go to the village school.
Lovely hotel with character, excellent attention to its cuisine, colourful rooms and private terraces to relax and feel the breeze in the evening.
