Rustic Farmhouse

A beautiful sanctuary in the hills above Nerja. Farmhouse is tastefully decorated throughout and feels like a real home from home. We made good use of the pool, bbq and outside space, and enjoyed listening to the frogs chatter in their pond. The farmhouse is ideally situated for visiting surrounding areas of Grenada, Frigiliana and La Herradura. A car is useful for getting around though the teenagers managed the climb down the hill to the beach. Nerja itself is a lively market town with many restaurants and bars worth trying.

This is a perfect place for larger families or groups who want privacy and quiet whilst soaking up the all-day sun, reading a book by the pool, pottering in the kitchen or lazing in bed and taking in the views. It's very well equipped, tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a self-catering stay.

When you open the entrance door of the walled house you enter a completely different world. A little paradise for us! An incredible garden and a house you can only dream of. It is a pleasure from morning to evening. We even dare to say that you have to search a long time throughout Andalusia to match El Monte Bajo. It's a TOPPER! All the details approach perfection, from the house, the garden to the pool… too many to mention, even the toilet paper is branded. Another Sawday's gem! Amazing place with every comfort necessary to enjoy the beautiful house & garden. Stunning views of the mountains and sea; the garden is very well kept, with a wonderful pool area, lots of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Danny kept in touch by WhatsApp / email before, during & after the visit. Very highly recommended - we hope to return soon!

An absolutely beautiful & stunning villa & garden. Clean, spacious beautifully furnished. The views of the mountains and sea are breathtaking. The garden is a delight with a generous pool & lots of space & many, many options to sit in sun or shade. We spent far more time at the villa than we anticipated because it was so peaceful & relaxing. Danny kept in touch by email before, during & after the visit. Highly recommended.

Just returned from another idyllic week here. Peace calm and tranquillity in a sheltered garden which has its own little micro-climate. Avocados, strawberries, custard apples and bananas all grow along with lemons oranges apricots figs and lots of salad and vegetables, all organically grown. The wildlife is constantly amazing with frogs toads Hawks squirrels stray pussycats with this time, a baby hedgehog sheltering in the cats bowl too! Words are insufficient to explain our delight at staying here again. We just know we are really lucky to have found it! Plus really caring owners. Delightful!

A magnificent villa full of charm with an exceptional garden and excellent views. Set 3/4 of a mile up a hill, it is an ideal for a 'get away from it all' holiday yet easily close enough to the heart of Nerja (2 miles approx) and its beaches, if a more lively experience is required.

Beyond the unassuming metal door set into a stone wall lies the enchanting finca that is El Monte Bajo. From the top of the steps that lead down to the covered terrace the view of the tropical garden, Nerja nestling in the valley, the sea and the Almijara mountain range is absolutely stunning. Once inside and from every viewpoint the property oozes rustic charm and character. This is an idyllic retreat that has been created with great care and affection, combining authentic Andalucian materials with ultra modern facilities. All in all this is a very special place. We look forward to returning.
